A Short Bio: I was born in 1982 in the city of lakes- Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. I had my Graduation and Post Graduation in Computer Science with specialization in Programming. |
Why I selected 76 as a name for my Studio? |
|
76 bear many significant meanings. Be it in Astronomy, Science or Mathematics. But for me, there is just one reason – Route76. Yes it’s the National Highway no. 76 that passes by from my city Udaipur and that’s where my Design Studio is located. In my College days, and even now, I had many adventure tours and picnics on this route along with my friends (whom I love dearly). Remembering them fondly, I kept the name 76. On the other side, this route also holds a historical significance in the field of Arts and Culture. |

Behind the making of 76 Logo |
|
A potter always eats in a broken bowl. No matter how good a Designer is for others, when it comes to designing a Logo of his own, he finds it head-scratching. It took a pretty good time for me to decide on the text – “76 or SeventySix”. I realized that 76 and SeventySix can be used appropriately at different instances. So I decided to make a symbol on 76 along with the text SeventySix. At the very start, I came up with these rough symbols: |

I didn’t envisage this. At least some modification was required on the font, to make it unique and stylized. I decided to give a tweak on the edges. This was the output after some work on the font. |

Now one element was required in the text itself to represent the Design/Graphics. (It’s not necessary sometimes, but I needed it here). I planned to replace the letter ‘I’ with a Pen nib. This was a good idea to represent a Design Studio. After some fine tuning and pulls on the anchor points, I came up with a vector crisp text for SeventySix, which would look good on any size (from a key-chain to a wide flex-board). |

Now I needed a symbol for 76. Using a Milestone with number 76 was an idea that was clicking me somewhere. It was showing the significance of Route76 (Art, Culture, Route, Journey and memories). I decided to stylize this milestone by making it abstract and creative. With many fine twists between 2-d and 3-d, I came up with a symbol that is currently in the 76 Logo. |

Finally, I had two elements: Symbol 76 and text SeventySix. Using both of them together gives a redundancy in reading- 76SeventySix. But then, both of them together are solving many other things too. The printed Business Cards made my chins up… In the end. |

No doubt, I have made better Logos than 76, but then the Potter's story must fit in somewhere. |
